Kathy Reichs

Kathleen "Kathy" Reichs was born in Chicago. Her work as a forensic anthropologist both in North Carolina and Quebec inspired her bestselling mystery novels.

Temperance Brennan first appeared in 1997 in Deja Dead. The heroine’s career as a forensic anthropologist in real life reflects the work of her fictional character, Temperance Brennan. Her series is set in the places she has worked and lived,North Carolina and Montreal, Canada.

The Fox television series, Bones, was inspired by Reich’s novels. The main character is based on Tempe Brennan. The series does not tie in with the book series, but includes a different cast of characters and is set in a different locale.

Iris Johansen

Iris Johansen is the author of eighteen novels, including Final Target and Body Of Lies. Born in 1938, she lives in Georgia. Iris Johansen started out writing in the romance genre, before developing her series which centers around forensic sculptor, Eve Duncan. Many of her books have made the NYT bestseller list.

After her child becomes victim of a serial killer, Eve Duncan turns to her career of rebuilding faces of crime victims for solace. Most of her plots center around missing children or other victims.

Beverly Connor

Beverly Connor combines her experience as an archaeologist in Georgia and South Carolina with her love of writing and mysteries.

She is the author of two series: the Lindsay Chamberlain Archaeology Mystery series and the Diane Fallon Forensic Investigation series.

Connor was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and now resides in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. She was the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award in Mystery and Suspense from Romantic Times Book Club Magazine in 2004.
